Buchannnan on Tweety: Would Powell have endorsed Obama if he were white?

Of course no one is shocked he said this... but it is now the new marching orders & memo from the McCain camp. COMPLETELY PREDICTABLE...

But, to the 10% of Independents who are undecided, and like Powell.. them hearing from the Republicans that the only reason Powell endorsed Obama is because they're both black is going to ring very hallow. If those independants were swayed because of Obama's race - they'd already have found a reason to vote for McCain.. the fact that they're still undecided is because of other issues (perhaps his "experience"). The Powell endorsement helps that where very little else at this stage could.

So, Republicans.. keep beating the "racism" drum.. it only helps us and hurts your bitter white base. (And I say this as a white female).
