Bush's National Guard File Missing Records
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=ap/bush_national_guard
<snip>
WASHINGTON - Documents that should have been written to explain gaps in President Bush (news - web sites)'s Texas Air National Guard service are missing from the military records released about his service in 1972 and 1973, according to regulations and outside experts.

For example, Air National Guard regulations at the time required commanders to write an investigative report for the Air Force when Bush missed his annual medical exam in 1972. The regulations also required commanders to confirm in writing that Bush received counseling after missing five months of drills.

No such records have been made public and the government told The Associated Press in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit that it has released all records it can find.

"This officer should have been reassigned in May 1972," wrote Master Sgt. Daniel P. Harkness, "since he no longer is training in his AFSC (Air Force Service Category, or job title) or with his unit of assignment."
<snip>

I know, I know, this is probably the 1000th story of Bush records missing and no one bats an eye in the mainstream broadcast media. But now with Kerry questioning BUsh's service, maybe this will pick up.

1. Yes.
I saw this on Yahoo, too.

The piece was up for about on ehour, maybe less, then taken off their headlines.

Vut Clinton, the hurricane and jabpan's earthquakes have been up all day with no change in story.

4. Which is what I don't get with the Yahoo rating system.
This story was voted higher then the "Democrats Claim Bush's Bounce Will Fade" story that's plastered there now. Is it because that story title sounds more for Bush?

2. But, there is a hurricane in Florida!
The cable news shows cannot take time out of hurricane coverage to report on any other issues.

We might miss some of those pictures of palm trees blowing, or heavy rain, etc.

The cable people are hoping the next hurricane comes in soon, so they can keep going.

3. Yahoo has shut down the message board for this article.
They have been doing this a lot lately--Rove must have a special phone just for Yahoo.
