3. Isn't Obama up double digits in PA?
 how is a McCain win in that state even possible, at this point?

6. He's not seriously pulling out of Colorado to go after PA, is he?
If he is, then his campaign is operating at Mondale and Dukakis levels of stupidity.

those states are lost and he had a better chance winning PA than any of those 3......give up John it's over. They won't publically admit it like Michigan.

9. CNN ticker has already picked this up:
McCain camp looking for way to win without Colorado

(CNN) — The McCain campaign is looking at an Electoral College strategy heading into the final two weeks that has virtually no room for error and depends heavily on a dramatic comeback in Pennsylvania, which hasn't backed a Republican for president in 20 years.

While Iowa, New Mexico and Colorado are still officially listed as McCain target states, two top strategists and advisers tell CNN that the situation in those states looks increasingly bleak. Iowa and New Mexico always have been viewed as difficult races, but the similar assessment of Colorado reflects a dramatic shift for a campaign that had long counted on the state.

"Gone," was the word one top McCain insider used to describe those three states.

This source said while the polls in Colorado remain close, he and most others in the operation were of the opinion that the Obama campaign and its allies have a far superior ground/turnout operation and "most of us have a hard time counting on Colorado."

11. Why don't they just pack it in?
I really have trouble believing that McCain can come back from a double-digit deficit here. He would need to gain almost one point a day until the election.

14. What? He's been trailing Obmaa by 10%+ for weeks here in PA
Edited on Mon Oct-20-08 07:37 PM by ShadowLiberal
PA is also expensive to advertise in, it makes no sense. McCain has consistently trailed Obama here all year. He has a much better chance at winning say CO then PA, which has went to the Dems the last 4 elections.

23. I'd like to think they aren't ready to steal PA. I always thought
they gave it to Kerry and therefore didn't get the scam set up. That's why I always thought - don't
even try in OH and FL where they already can perpetrate fraud. But, suppose it's naive
to think they can't rig PA. When you lie about a war and thousands die - you can do anything.

If McCain is counting on winning BOTH Penn and Virginia- he can throw in the towel.

Was better off sticking with Colorado.

20. No chance in PA
Pennsylvania is fools gold for the GOP. With an historic opportunity like this, there is no way in hell McCain wins PA.

21. The McCain path to 270
Edited on Mon Oct-20-08 07:50 PM by ticapnews

Problem for him is he has to sweep

Florida
Pennsylvania
Ohio
North Carolina
Virginia

And he is trailing by double-digits in VA and PA, is down in NC and is within the MoE in FL and OH. He has to make up ground in every single one of these states. Meanwhile, Obama can defend these states, plus pressure McCain in GA, IN, NV, WV, ND, MT.

Checkmate.
