The point is (re: Biden) that ANYONE will be tested.
Obama will be tested.

McCain will be tested.

Biden would be tested.

Palin would be tested.

So who do you want in there when the test comes--erratic, senile McCain, or Mr. Cool Obama?

That's all anyone has to say.

1. it is stupid that people on du then turns on biden. media does this. and it is always a group
on du that buys into it being the end of the world. wasnt a big deal what biden says. instead of panic.... know it means no more than the past them doing this to create drama or what will happen next couple weeks

turn on media where it belongs

not joe

2. regardless of what biden meant to articulate
thats not the way it came out. I love biden, my BF voted for him in the primary. we both recognize he is #2 on the ticket and should be more careful with his words.

the media sucks, but the media is in charge of the media, the obama/biden team knows the rules of the game and how the media plays. sorry, love biden but sometimes I would rather he STFU than give mccain and the media their shitty talking points.

you can blame the refs or just try not to make the mistake. the latter Biden has control of.

4. what biden said, regardless of intention was FINE. so NOT an issue. media is fabricating something
from NOTHING

buy into media making this a deal, that is your issue. but what biden actually said.... is not newsworthy.

suggested that because obama is obama it will invite those to create some sort of manufactured crisis to test him. that is NOT fine, nor is it true.

to make it a deal, fine, fall for media game. it isnt even a little on the radar as something inappropriate.

7. I am not making it a deal
The media is making it an issue, now it's one or two days of talking points questioning Obama and whether or not just electing him will invite crisis.

sorry, I am not falling for the media game, I am smart enough to watch and understand how the media game is played. It's about dominating news cycles. 2 weeks out from the election I want ZERO distractions like this, none.

Again, you can either blame the refs or be more diciplined as we draw closer to Nov 4. I can assure you, I will bet Biden wished he had articulated what he meant more accurately.

been something else. they needed something, anything. that has nothing to do with biden. understanding media, you know this and you dont put blame on joe. put it where it belongs.

12. No, I blame Joe for not being more diciplined.
Sorry, he needs to be more careful for what he says.

Yes, the media sucks, yes we all know they will twist and turn every word to suit their needs. Diciplined candidates control the message. We will now have a 2 day cycle out of 14 days remaining that appears negative against Obama.

You blaming the media suggests to me you dont understand how this game is played, the rules suck, the media sucks, of course the media is being ridiculous but the smart thing to do is stay on point and stay on message. No mistakes, we are almost at the goal line. Do you want to win or do you want to stand around and blame the refs if we lose?

that is what you are not getting. he was disciplined. he did not make a gaffe. what he said was fine.

i do understand the media. doesnt matter whether there is something there or not, media will latch on something. if there is NOTHING there and they latch on NOTHING and create soemthing, how is it on joe's shoulder. that is just stupid

i understand.

20. If it was nothing. seriously nothing.
then why is the media all over it? there is just enough there to create a story, the mccain campaign has jumped on it as has the media.

It was a mistake, a gaffe, YES! He should have chosen different wording.

You guys dont get it. Seriously, go ahead, cry about the media. Let the Obama team be careless and if they had the same attitude as you about the media then they would be out there saying whatever the fuck they want not caring about media coverage, poll numbers etc. and they would be losing.

sorry, this was sloppy and undiciplined.

23. obama said it was a pretty day (really i cant remember what he said but equivalent) and media on it
two days or more... a week. was so stupid, empty, nothing, absolutely nothing and media looked foolish.

kerry made a joke. EVERYONE knew kerry wasn't dissing soldiers, yet made a story of it that took him down from running again

if you are not clever enough to see a nothing made into something by media, then we will continue having our candidates taken down by nothing.

only ourselves to blame.

24. I am clever enough to see it.
I havent heard anyone talk about obama saying it was a pretty day, or kerry's joke.

What I have heard is people this morning questioning whether electing Obama will invite a crisis. It's wrong but guess what, it's out there.

Wake up. We "lost" florida by 527 votes, thus having the election stolen from us. This is not about me, or you, or DU. This is now about undecideds.

Again, feel free to keep blaming the refs, I want to win, we need to keep control of the news cycle for the next 14 days, we dont need this crap. No gaffes, no nothing.

I am not giving the media what they want.

Yes, the microcosm of DU disagrees. Whoopie. Right now we are fighting for undecideds, we are fighting for people who havent made up their minds. We dont need any negative news cycles period.

Had Biden properly articulated his thoughts there wouldnt be a negative news cycle right now.

You're being myopic, you are thinking small picture vs. big picture.

I'm glad you dont work for the campaign.

13. What Biden said was 100% true... and HELPS our candidate

He basically repeated what Powell said.

During the past 7 weeks, we saw how both men deal with a crisis.

This is what tipped Powell toward Obama.

During the first 6 months in office, the President will be tested with another crisis. And Obama has the better temperment to deal with it.

Nothing at ALL wrong with the statement OR with how it was worded.

Concern trolls and people who are weak at basic logic think this was a "gaffe".

Which are you?

15. And...
foolish people dont understand that we are now down to the last 2 minutes of the game and while you purity types are running around defending what Biden said, the media is running wild and OH look a negative news cycle 14 days out.

How do you guys not get this? This is not about right or wrong, this is not about what he said vs. what he meant. This is now down to controlling the news cycle and swaying undecideds.

He could have said...Regardless of who is elected it is possible that there will be a manufactured crisis that will test the judgment and temperament of both men, Obama has a spine of steel, the judgement and temperament to face any crisis.

But thats not what he said, it's what he meant, just not what he said and it's why the fucking media is running wild.

Defend Biden all you like, but turn on the TV, I would bet you'd prefer the news to be covering something out.

Please check my profile, I am no troll, no need to be insulting.

I have a grip, I know what Biden meant. This is not about the microcosm that is DU, this is now down to undecideds. 14 days left in the election and 2 days will now be devoted to this nonsense.

Again you can blame the refs, or you can make sure our team stays diciplined.

Fuck them. If this causes ANYONE to back away from Obama, then they are living in a fantasy world. This is SUCH A NON ISSUE, AND DU, AND THE OTHER MYOPIC PEOPLE WHO ARE TALKING ABOUT IT, NEED TO JUST SHUT UP. People post this shit, are the kindling that starts the FIRE.

I am not backing away from Obama, I dont think this will sway anyone already in Obama's camp.

Wright was a non issue, but it fucked with the polls.

Again, think like the campaign - EVERY VOTE COUNTS, it will prevent the rethugs from stealing this thing.

Yes, guess what. People shouldnt be talking about it but presto, negative news cycle. We dont need anymore news cycles like this the remainder of time before the election. Period.

I want to WIN, there will be time to crucify the media later.

Biden introduced a timeline (6 months). This is not a winner for us. When we are debating our own cnadidate's comments (I call it a gaffe) we LOSE.

We should DROP IT, and attack McShitforbranis' "Socialist" strategy... we have to be talking about THEM, not our guys.

There are to many out there that will do that. Joe and Barack are both human and now and then will say something that maybe that wished that they hadn't. That is life when you live under the glare of the spotlight. I challenge anyone else to live like that for months and never have a flub. I know I couldn't do it and I doubt many could.

I'm cranky because I've gotten a few super-obnoxious responses to my posts on this topic today! I'm thinking whenever the MSM is tlking about US and we are debating amongsst ourselves (and insulting each other.... I was basically called a "slacker" in another post, so I had to let loose) we LOSE.

The MSM wants to make this a horserace, so will latch onto ANYTHING that may throw McCrap a few polling points. But this is really pretty minor, and should disappear shortly.

this "socialism" thing however, needs to be shredded quickly. I would like to see a Warren Buffeet ad that knocks that one down.
