These rethugs have lost their damn minds. I fear this type of behavior and intimidation will only grow as we move closer to election day.

Edited to provide a link with more information:

1. This was what I warned of, as mKKKain/S.S.arah started their
Hate Rallies. I said I wasn't worried about Obama's safety, but rather the hate and anger generated would find the outlet against supporter. The hate will go to the easiest target, their neighbors. Sick. Sick. Sick.

This is mccain and palin's fault, make no mistake.

3. Agreed. This is domestic terrorism and a terrorist campaign
They are trying to terrorize and sow fear into the populace that might actually *gasp* vote for Obama. They fear their power slipping away and things are only going to get worse. The Justice Department should classify these acts as terrorist acts and treat them as such. But they won't and McCain/Palin will continue sowing these seeds and stoking the fire of hatred in their supporters - they want a terror campaign and their getting it from their base.

These bastards won't intimidate me.

8. Totally Agree
They lit the match to the acts of hate and violence we are likely to see during this election. I hope I'm wrong but I think this will degenerate in the coming days to physical violence.

2. I bet this was in Austin, I see the "Book People" bumpersticker...
That's awful!

I live right outside Austin and just got my new Obama car magnet in...I keep worrying about someone stealing it, hadn't really thought about an all out attack on my car! Glad I have insurance on the ol' PT Cruiser!

9. All of these hateful acts can be laid directly at the feet of McCain/Palin.
What are their plans for after the election.

11. Yeah - some of my neighbors are afraid to put
out signs. I've been apprehensive about it as I'm in a very red area of Texas - but hubby is determined to keep the signs up.

The hate is going to bubble up and over even more the closer we get to election day.

16. I used to live in Hays County
There's a real tension between the people who have been there in the small towns (back when they were small), the farms and ranches and the thousands and thousands who have moved into the suburbs of Kyle and Buda. A ton of resentment. There was a big fight over the high school mascot (Rebel) with the old guard saying that the new people don't want them to honor their forebearers and their way of life. The roads are overburdened, taxes have gone up, water is scarcer and the people who just want it to be the way it used to be are angry. Please don't think I'm defending them in anyway whatsoever, just trying to give you some background on what the county is like. The local newspaper was broken into one night while the editor was working -- he ran out the front door and the thieves took all of the computer equipment. The state senate fight between Green (R) and Rose (D) was so ugly it had its own PBS documentary.

It's a tinderbox.

We drove from Waco to Marble Falls this weekend, along county roads and US 281 -- TONS AND TONS of McCain/Palin signs on fences and in front yards.

18. Kyle and Buda are in Hays County
Just north of San Marcos, south of Austin. Once small farming and ranching communities, now they are suburbs of Austin.

25. Drove from Houston area to Ft. Worth
along country roads two weeks ago. Didn't see one Obama signs, but like you, saw lots and lots of big, multiple McCain signs. Drove to Sealy area this past weekend, about 40 miles west of Hou/Katy. Again, only saw McCain signs.

21. No signs on my car this year.
I was keyed for Kerry in 2004 and don't care to invite any more destruction upon my car, although the area where I live is now much more pro-Democrat.

27. I live in Waco and have a bumper sticker and yard sign
No one has messed with my sign or my bumper sticker. No one says boo to me. My kids report that the other kids in school are supporting Obama.

Remember, this is the same county that Bush purports to live in!

As much as I think Obama is running a superior ground game, McCain has won the sign wars in Texas, particularly in rural Texas. I have seen more McCain signs since Palin joined the ticket, especially large signs that sit in vacant lots and attached to fences along the highway. I wish we had more Obama Biden signs -- I think if they were more readily available, more people would have them.

23. Sick behavior
I live in Texas and this kind of stuff really is a shame. The more frantic the Repukes get, the more volatile they become.

One guy yesterday called me specifically to tell me that Obama was "going to take our guns". I told him that he needed to become better informed, and that meant to stop watching Fox, listen to someone other than Limbaugh, and think next time before paying those NRA dues!

The mentality of some of these people truly confounds the brain.

28. That's fucked up. Not feeling too bad now about my stolen bumper stickers
Noticed this morning that my (4th attempt) replacement sticker was gone.

My daughter drives the car to school so I am sure it keeps happening in the parking lot there. They REALLY didn't like the one "McCain, Bush's third term"..that one was gone before the Obama sticker (had them both on at the same time).
