Keep in mind two things:
Obama can keep raising money and replenishing, while McCain's sum is only dwindling.
McCain's total doesn't include the money he's using from the well-stocked RNC to help underwrite almost every element of his campaign.
One thing I'd like to add... I haven't seen the numbers from last week but for the first 2 weeks of October, McCain camp has spent close to 20 million in ad buys. That is the McCain campaign only and not the RNC... McCain camp is almost broke. Expect to see more local TV interviews from him...
