5. Update
They interviewed a guy from AIP and he soft peddled the message of AIP as just wanting more "states rights" and "access to all state lands". He denied that they want to secede but didn't approve of the large gov't we have in the U.S. Jeffry Toobin then came on to assure us all that all of their platform points were constituitional that they were basically a political party with a few "fringe" elements.

6. mostly they said
that the AIP was very far right politically but constitutional. They did not really answer whether or not secession was a party goal but did say they were seeking a level of independence for the state that was far outside usual politics.

The most interesting point perhaps was the fact that the party was created to protect Alaska from having resources removed by the federal government that they should have no rights to but that the reality is that Alaska has received far more than it has given up. At least that was how I took the comments.

4. They softened the AIP angle and softly said AIP were extremists
but nothing they are doing is unconstitutional.

Nothing about the founder's history, etc.

I call softball bullshit.

9. The Daily Show's excursion into Alaska was harder hitting.
That correspondent interviewed a member of the AIP, and pretty much made him say "F*ck Off!" when questioned about AIP and Sarah Palin.

11. The interview with the Wasilla mayor was very damaging
Pretty much showed that Palin had little to no responsibilities in that small town.
