I finally hit upon why failin just pisses me off so much...

when I worked out in L.A. I started off as a P.A. (production assistant). There were roughly two types. Those who broke their ass working hard and those who sucked up. The ones that sucked up, usually moved up pretty quick but would develop into really really shitty above the line people. the ones that worked hard, knew all the ins and outs of production and usually were the most cost effective and crew conscious of the two.

Now here comes the palin type, he or she neither sucked up or worked hard, he or she is the p.a. that slept around. Everyone hated those types because their star would rise really fast based on nothing. They would treat people like shit, throw money at things to try and fix them, but only to have someone "below" them, unfuck his or her fuckups. These types of p.a.'s would generally have no talent to speak of, no vision and no artistic taste.

However, now a really big job comes along that requires real talent and ability. Knowing full well that he or she isn't up to the job, they suddenly feel the need to go back to the "little people", (the ones that were stepped on, on her way up) and "reacquaint" themselves.

The problem is, the "little people" still have his or her foot prints on their backs and haven't forgotten a thing. And aren't easily swayed by promises of good work and high pay, especially, when this person failed to hire them many times in the past based on false promises of that "big job".

Women who don't use sex to get ahead are always disgusted by those who do - because their behavior reinforces stereotypes with which we ALL have to deal.

For putting my thoughts into words. Ditto! Ditto! Ditto!

by noticing that she's a liar, she has no trouble breaking rules, she fronts a fake image and she's excessive -- over the top in her lifestyle, grandiose.

Those are four big red flags for an addict, aka, manipulative @ssholes.

Hell, there's a guy that pumps gas down the street that's just as qualified as she is.

Seriously.

my elderly mom called Failin' "nothing more than t*ts and teeth". When I recovered my aplomb and voice, I could only meekly agree. If it's obvious enough to make my very southern mom lose her cool, it's pretty bad.

BTW, she cast her vote early and proudly for Obama/Biden last Friday. She's a thorough Democrat who raised me right :)

The jury is out on competent. And happy? How do you know she's happy? Because she smiles a lot? So does the waitress down at the coffee shop. People tend to tip better.
