Hillary Rodham Clinton gave a nod today to the mountain that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama must climb to claim an electoral vote in traditionally Republican Nebraska.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton speaks Tuesday at a rally for presidential candidate Barack Obama at Qwest Center Omaha.

But it is possible, she said.

"As the polls show, this is a close race, and Nebraska is poised to put Senator Obama over the top," Clinton told more than 2,500 supporters who gathered for a political rally at the Qwest Center Omaha.

Clinton spent a good chunk of the day in Omaha. She attended a morning fundraiser and then spoke at a Girls Inc. luncheon. The rally followed the luncheon.

Clinton urged the crowd to mobilize family and friends to support Obama, saying it was a chance for Nebraska to be a part of history.

"I've probably seen more McCain/Palin signs in Omaha than I've seen in America," she said.

2. Cute pic of her! Since Hillary has said she wants to stay in the Senate...
...anyone know what her changes are of becoming Majority Leader ~ she's a junior Senator; how does that work?

3. The majority leader can, in theory, be any member of the majority party. nt

4. It's Possible

Senator Clinton came to Omaha today . . . and this morning I saw a television ad for McCain on WOWT in Omaha. Given that the WOWT signal can only be seen in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, traditionally Republican strongholds, why would McCain be spending advertising dollars here? Why would Senator Clinton spend time in Omaha if Nebraska (one of the reddest of red states) is not considered a battleground state? I think the electoral vote of the 2nd Congressional District (Nebraska divides its electoral votes) is in play. If that is the case, the election could be a landslide. After all, Nebraska has not given any electoral votes to a Democrat since LBJ.
