Is Obama v Mc A Replay of Clinton v Lazio??
Remember when Hillary ran against Rick Lazio in 2000 for the NY Senate seat? She led him in the polls for the whole campaign, often by double digits. The guy was a doofus who famously stalked over to Hillary's podium during their debate and asked her to sign some pledge.

I was living in NJ at the time. Nobody gave Lazio a chance because he was erratic and gimmicy. The only people trumpeting a dark horse win were the usual RW gasbags. Lazio had to take over the R nominee spot after Rudy withdrew due to health issues (yes. They discovered Rudy was an enormous, swollen dickhead!).

In the final week of the campaign, Quinnipiac had the race narrowing to within 3 pts (+ - 3).

On election day, Hillary beat Lazio by 11 points - 55 to 44.

Sometimes I think I'm watching a rerun of that race, including the "tightening" crapola from the media.
