Thanks for nothing, Ed Rendell.
On, CNN.com, Ed sez he's "still a little nervous" about Obama winning Pennslvania. "I don't want to be selfish," sez he.

But according to Rendell, "there is also worry among Democrats the McCain campaign has successfully raised the enthusiasm level among Republicans in the state."

Pennsylvania was 91% on Intrade earlier today--now it's 87%. I'm not too worried about the state, but I don't like it that he's bringing people's confidence down.

1. I think maybe it's to keep people from getting over confident.
We still need people to show up and vote.

6. I do, too. I don't think it's a cause for panic.
Or being upset at Rendell.

2. If you are a dem in PA, you want to sound nervous to turn out the vote.
They only get 1 day, and the lines will be long and machines will be breaking..

16. I agree. He wants to keep the Dems on the edge of their seats
to make sure they GOTV!!!

I'm absolutely okay with this. Unfortunately, people DO get complacent and the last thing we need is a bad weather election day where Dems think "Obama's got it in the bag," I'm not waiting in the freezing rain for 2 hours!

14. This is only true if you like Rendell. If you dislike him, the truth is he's pro-McCain
As has been well established on DU, the truth about someone else's motives changes depending on how much you like them at that moment.

Edited on Tue Oct-21-08 06:06 PM by Jake3463
but he's doing his job. He's going to rallies. He's going on local TV and he's turned over the machine to Obama. He's actually doing his job. If you spoke to an Obama field organizer they would say the same thing.

If PA looks 100% Obama the GOTV shifts will be depleted which could cause the unthinkable.

20. WTF - do you know what's happening in Pennsylvania. Thank you Ed for pointing this out to the press
They're trying to steal Pennsylvania and the republicans have a good chance of doing this. Pennsylvania has only one day for voting which makes it easy for the republicans to target voters and deny their right to vote. And you're going to post sarcastic shit for Rendell pointing this out.

:grr:
