When folks see an er...supposed 11 point lead vanish within the week to a 4 to 5 point lead, they will be left with the impression that Dubya is in a free fall. You'll see.... this will work to our advantage.

2. Yep
and the polls might even be closer to that. Remember, Kerry never had a double-digit lead to fritter away.

12. CNN too. . .
and what keeps Time and Newsweek from running new polls which are just as skewed in who they poll as these two were?

9. The 11 point lead was a tongue-in-cheek trial balloon floated by the Rove
media. It was easily dissected and rejected by vigilant bloggers.

10. I can see it dropping farther then that.
In 2000 Bush had a 17 point lead against Gore and lost it completely in a week. And this was before the DNC.

11. I agree with post #9
definitely a Rove tactic, hoping that the 5 undecided people in the country would want to support a "winner." Damn, I hope people don't re-elect Rove.

13. Not only that, but..
it put the fear of god into the Kerry camp, and now he's brought out the big guns. We needed a good excuse for a shake-up, and we got one.
