Carole King gave a lovely talk in Wisconsin tonight
I just got back from meeting Carole King at an Obama Field Office in Wisconsin tonight. She gave a great talk about how she came to Obama via Hillary and encouraged everyone to vote early and volunteer for GOTV. She mentioned how she lives in Idaho and owns a gun! And she is really short. She was so sweet to everyone and gave a long line of supporters her autograph. It was fun, even though there was no singing. :)

5. I met her and John Kerry's sister in Charleston during the Primary there
back in '04 when I was a Kerry Traveler.

I really had no idea who she was until she got up and spoke. She just looked like somebody's mom at the time. She is very low key and a very nice person. I got some pics of her and Kerry's sis with some other supporters just before she spoke at the rally. I thought I was taking pics of Kerry's sister at the time I took them but I was actually taking pics of Carole King w/Kerry's sis.

6. You can't talk to a woman
with a shotgun in her hand.

7. In 2004, she spoke at a canvassing event in Las Vegas...
...for Kerry-Edwards. She was really great...and then she did send us off to go door-to-door with a short song. :) It's a day I'll long remember. I'm glad to see she's out there this year for Obama.
