5. Not leading at all, IMO. Included some RACE questions, which was interesting.
First, the surveyor tried to get a handle on whether I was a "likely voter" by asking several questions about my voter registration. Several. Like was I registered, was it current, was there any chance that it was not valid currently, had I ever voted in my precinct, etc.

Several McCain/Palin vs. Obama/Biden questions, starting with how likely it was that I would vote for one or the other.

Then other questions about general political, social, economic views. Some of which I don't remember.

VERY FAIR and not leading questions. Thorough. Answers were rarely yes or no. They were usu. degrees of yes or no. Like, after I said I'd be voting for Obama/Biden, they asked how likely it was that I would vote for him (after I just said I'd vote for him). Very thorough...to catch waverers. THEN how likely it would be that I'd vote for McCain/Palin (after I just said...twice...that I'd vote for Obama).

Race questions were general, to get an idea I guess how much race factors into the voting decision?

Best of all...he asked if I would be early voting or voting on Nov 4th. I said I'd be voting this Saturday morning! He asked how likely I'd be voting...100% certain, mostly certain, average, less certain, not certain. I proudly said....100% CERTAIN I'M VOTING FOR BARACK OBAMA THIS SATURDAY MORNING!!!!! He asked how often I vote...always, almost always, seldom, etc. I said I ALWAYS vote, and I'm voting for Obama/Biden!

He also asked about my having a cell phone and how I got most of my phone calls. Trying to get a handle on poll accuracy because of cell phones, I guess.

Very long survey. Very thorough. Very fair. I DOOD IT! I WAS POLLED! For the first time in my life!!!! And it was for Obama/Biden. That is so great that I just can't say.

6. What I wanna know is, did they ask you if you'd already voted?
Do they have early voting in your state?

I'm just wondering if the pollsters are taking EV into account.

7. Yes, our early voting started Monday. He asked...
WHEN I'd be voting, as I recall. Something about when. Then a follow-up about whether I'd be voting on Nov 4th or early voting. (I'd already told him I'd be voting this Saturday, when he asked WHEN I'd be voting.)

Yes, they had two or more questions about WHEN I would be voting, and one of the questions specifically asked if I'd be early voting. I told him yes, but he said it at the same time because I'd just told him I'd be voting Saturday.

I'm in TX. We started voting Monday, and there is a record turnout, I've read. Schwing!

8. Hey, I'm in Dallas!
:hi:
I voted Monday. I'm surprised they're polling Texas, but I guess they want to get an overall sense of what's going on.

9. I'm in Dallas, too!!!!! Howdy, neighbor!!!!
:hi:

Maybe they're polling TX because it's early voting. And maybe they're including some red states to get a sense of how McCain's doing in traditionally red states, or if Obama is making inroads here.

He asked my zip code, so that will give them a sense of certain areas that may lean one way or another.

I was so excited to be FINALLY polled, and to be counted!

FIRST they wanted to speak to any male in my house over 18, but no one was home but me. So they surveyed me (I guess I was second choice).

And remember, Dallas was one area in the U.S. that in 2006 voted out ALL the Republican judges at that election. ALL of 'em. There were over 30 of 'em. That was stunning. I think it was mentioned on the national news.

Check out the Dallas Democratic Party's website for the big election night party. THAT is going to be wicked fun. I'm SO going to be there.
