A benefit of the Colin Powell endorsement that I haven't heard mentioned.
Since Powell endorsed Obama, particularly the part about the Muslim soldier from New Jersey, I haven't heard a single instance of anyone--right-wing ideologue, McCain surrogate, or Yokelville deputy sheriff--referring to Obama as Barack HUSSEIN Obama. I think Powell shut that down.

1. I do think we are seeing a Powell bump and that he deflated many Rethuglicans
it was a big win for Obama even though Powell is tainted.

2. I am grateful to him for that.
Of course I have issues with Powell, but I'm glad he took a step in the right (er ... left?) direction.

3. Well said. The beauty of Powell's endorsement, in my view, is that
he deftly extinguished just about ALL of the arguments being spun, made up, exaggerated, fabricated or manipulated by the opposition. They still try, though, with increasingly pitiful results. Powell effectively ended just about every argument the Republicans/McCain campaign were trying to push.

It was monumental in its logic, irrespective of whether or not one is angry at Powell or not. His endorsement was not about him, but it was expertly delivered and explained.
