At Least 2 Out of 5 Eligible Voters Don't Vote - Know Anyone Sitting This One Out?

Since 1968, voter turnout in a Presidential election has always been less than 60%. This means that at least 2 out of 5 eligible voters, simply do not vote. So, is anyone sitting this election out? Or, do you know anyone who is making the decision to sit this election out?

Several *young* folks working checkout at local stores. (I always have a pin on and always ask them if they're voting while they're checking me out.)

I'm working on them. ... Obama/McCain didn't work, so I've been telling them about local propositions I assume (so far, correctly) they'd be against ... and our crazy sheriff here (who, yeppers, they can't stand) and saying to at LEAST vote local. A couple have changed their minds. And a couple are still thinking. (I haven't been to the store so often in years. I go in now once a day just to get to go thru the checkout line :) :)

4. My sister.

She seemed to be leaning toward Gramps in July but now that Palin is on board sis will have none of that. Yet, she says that her vote won't count in KY and doesn't think that she will bother. I am working on her. I told her she needed to figure out how to get a paper ballot and then worry about whether she will vote.

6. This makes me sick

Every time there's a big election I get so mad about how few of us can fricking be bothered to vote :mad: I think people who don't vote are useless non-humans. ..well except for my Grandma, but she never worked or drove either.. anyway she's passed away, there is NO excuse for people who can make it to the polls not to vote.

I don't know anyone who's not voting, but I only know a few people anyway.

7. My father isn't voting.

Doesn't like Obama much and hates all Republicans. I suspect if the race was close here he'd vote for Obama, but the race will be a blowout here in Mass, so I don't see him voting.
