Oh man...my boyfriend is screaming on the phone at his sister, she said Obama is a muslim
Oh I begged him not to talk politics with her. She is a fundamentalist, home schools, believes in creationism, and has lived her entire life in Roswell, NM.

I walked in and he was screaming "he only voted against it to protect the lift of the mother!"

I walked into his office and he had the obama tax calculator up and calculated her tax cut.

He was screaming "He's not a muslim, and so what if he was!"

He screamed about Iraq and is now screaming at her about how Clinton did not allow the attack on 9/11 but Bush ignored the PDB stating that Al Quaida would attack via plane. He also just said she is one of 10% that still approves of the job that George Bush is doing.

Oh christ, she's a lost cause, I told him not to talk politics with her.

4. Honestly she is a lost cause.
That is the only thing good that will come out of this.

He was one of the ones down at ground zero and was screaming at her how dare you talk to me about 9/11, while you were in your ranch house in NM I watched the buildings collapse.

Oh wow. I cant get him to hang up either...

3. I'm sorry for you both.
At this stage it feels like we've all been holding back our feelings of despair, disbelief, disappointment and intense distress, for some eight years, and our forebearance wanes as our confidence increases. I did not yell at somebody last night who gave me the Muslim, non-citizen, Socialist argument over a few glasses of wine. I rather wish I had. Hugs to you and your boyfriend.

5. at least one in every family it seems. my sister was raised alongside myself
and our younger sister: watching Cosmos and Materpiece Theater on tv, well educated and liberal. she maried a fundie, and hasn't seen cable tv in over twenty years. she has made herself totally ignorant by choice. homophobic rw fundie non-thinker to her core now. recently told me that Obama is a socialist.

6. This will pass
Her feelings may not but the intensity of these moments will fade.

Tough to deal with at the moment though I am sure!

This must be what we only read about in history books about the Civil War, pitting families against each other.

10. He should try reverse psychology....
He can say that he's realized that he actually agrees with the international socialism of Bush-McCain who generously redistribute $10 billion per month to Iraq to top up the $80 billion budget surplus there.

11. I can relate to him
IMO, anyone who still thinks that should be forced to spend Election Day writing "Obama is not a Muslim" 1000 times on a chalkboard, like a misbehaving student in detention
