Are all of these polls for real? Or am I dreaming?
I was so burnt by my perceptions in 2004 by thinking everyone was in line at the polls to vote Bush out. I was absolutely crushed. I was absolutely wrong on my assumptions as I worked the polls for 12 hours. I couldn't believe my eyes when the results started rolling in. Every Democrat on our local and state ticket lost including the president. I vowed never to get reeled in again. But now, here I've been since spring working harder than I've ever worked before. And this time I've worked FOR someone, not against someone. Not that I didn't like Kerry, I really did.

I just don't want to get crushed again. This is my last hope. I hope the polls are real and not just leading my little heart on.

1. Well, if Indiana is really in play, I'd say it's time for someone to pinch me.
Never thought I'd see that.

2. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality?

3. It's real. And you misremember, or never followed the '04 polls closely enough --
for the last few weeks, Bush was circling around a 3% lead in most polls. Which margin he won by. The last election was a lot closer than this one, but the polls pointed to the result that happened.

Let not your heart be troubled -- if Barack is 6, or 8 (or 10 or 12) points ahead in the polls today, that's what he'll win by in November!

5. I remember that I kept denying the polls then.
I was not believing them and saying they were wrong and biased just like the Freepers are doing now.

I will cry like a baby if all this is true. I DID already cry yesterday when I found out Obama was up by +10 in the BigTen in Indiana. I swear I will cry and cry and cry. It will be the first time in my life to see Indiana go blue!

7. Reading your message made me cry
All of us,Dems, have been crushed in the last two elections. This election to us is PERSONAL, we feel 2000 was stolen and so was 2004 with ohio. The only difference this time is that we are really INSPIRE by a true leader, not someone that we are voting for the sake of safety. Obama offers not only that safety feeling but MUCH MORE THAN THAT..
so, this time, This deserving win, will be much sweeter. : )

I know i will cry. I am very sensible lately reading posts like yours and just by lookign Obama's photos at rallies such as the one in Missouri and Virginia.

This time is ours!!. Open your eyes, wake up and celebrate!!

6. Kerry never had an October lead over Bush
the polls are real, the current administration has a 22% approval rating, people are ready for a change, the economy is circling the drain and the financial system is near collapse, McCain has made himself look erratic while Obama has remained calm, and the Republicans probably couldn't win this year if they were running Abraham Lincoln for President and Teddy Roosevelt for VP. Turnout matters, but Kerry was never in anywhere near as strong a position, and no-one in American political history has come back from being as far down as McCain is now with less than 2 weeks to go.

8. If I'm dreaming, don't wake me tonight.
Don't wake me a week from Tuesday, either.
