2. I'm just asking here...
...but why on Earth would a young, college student support that walking corpse?

His vision for the future of this country is to bring on more war. He wants
the rich to continue feeding at the trough, while the middle class sputters.

He's an old, mean maniac.

I assume she has major father issues. Probably abuse. And no, I'm not kidding.

4. The immaturity of these women scares me.
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 02:59 AM by junofeb
I'm not the only one. I've had casual acquaintances tell me that Palin reminds them of the high school bitch that never grew up. The attention mongering of women like Palin, Todd and Bachmann, their inability to feel empathy or admit their own mistakes, all so immature.

I agree with you about the abuse. I've seen this kind of acting out before many years ago in my HS friends who were abused or molested as children. The ones who flirted with every man they met as a form of manipulation. The ones that would make up extreme lies, illnesses, etc for attention. And the ones who would start whisper campaigns about you behind your back for some imagined slight or another because it focused attention on them. Us and them, with themselves as 'queen', of course.

I remember years ago reading something about how abuse victims, especially victims of sexual abuse, can get sort of 'frozen in time', acting out immature patterns indefinitely until treated with therapy.

So I gotta wonder about them, their families and their relationships. They just don't seem happy.

I know I'm doing the armchair diagnosis here, but I've seen the pattern before.

5. You hit the nail on the head, its called narcissism
* Feels grandiose and self-important (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents to the point of lying, demands to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)

* Is obsessed with fantasies of unlimited success, fame, fearsome power or omnipotence, unequalled brilliance (the cerebral narcissist), bodily beauty or sexual performance (the somatic narcissist), or ideal, everlasting, all-conquering love or passion

* Firmly convinced that he or she is unique and, being special, can only be understood by, should only be treated by, or associate with, other special or unique, or high-status people (or institutions)

* Requires excessive admiration, adulation, attention and affirmation - or, failing that, wishes to be feared and to be notorious (narcissistic supply)

* Feels entitled. Expects unreasonable or special and favorable priority treatment. Demands automatic and full compliance with his or her expectations

* Is "interpersonally exploitative", i.e., uses others to achieve his or her own ends

* Devoid of empathy. Is unable or unwilling to identify with or acknowledge the feelings and needs of others

* Constantly envious of others or believes that they feel the same about him or her

* Arrogant, haughty behaviours or attitudes coupled with rage when frustrated, contradicted, or confronted

7. HA! Very telling...
Sounds like several of those HS friends all over!

I'm so glad I outgrew them and left (small) town when I was 19. I've gone back to visit and things never really changed.

Thanks for the rundown.

3. I'm concerned about McCain and Palin's associations with criminals
Both phoned her after the crime.

8. It might - we just don't know yet. The American people have a right to know
about the history they have with her.

(this could be fun)
