More than 1.1 million people have voted early in Texas.

And that was as of Thursday. And that's only in the 15 most populous counties, that's not the entire state count.

We early voted this morning, it opened at 7 and we figured we'd get there right as it opened to avoid lines, but nope, there was already a super long line of people waiting for the doors to open. I asked around and the people at the front of the line got there at 5:30 am and set up chairs.

The line was around the block at 7:30 am. A CITY block. It goes on until 7 tonight, then this week from 7 am to 7 pm every day until Friday.

Here's an article on it:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/feedarticle/7921785

We're running at about DOUBLE the early voting turnout of 2004 so far. After today it might be much higher because it's Saturday. It'll be interesting to see what kinds of early voting turnout records we break by this Friday.

Go Texas, go Texas, it's your birthday (not really). Go Texas. Even if we don't go blue this time (and who knows, we might just surprise the shit out of everyone) I at least want Republicans to watch on in horror as they barely hold on to this state. MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA.

Oh and if John Cornyn the Bastard Asshole PigDog from Hell loses his Senate seat, I have to fulfill all those promises I made to the Big Guy.

10. I wouldn't wait until November 4th. Even in your area,
it might be a bit crowded, unless you are super super rural.

even in the less-populated areas like Corpus, the Valley, Laredo, West Texas....just wow. :wow:

4. I early voted this morning in Dallas, Erin. Where are located?
I usu. am the only voter at the polls at 8 a.m. on Saturday mornings, but this morning, there were about 20 cars there. No line, though. But people were voting ahead of me, and people were coming behind me. Very unusual for an early Sat. morning early voting day.

9. Not Dallas proper, but Dallas county.
I live in a burb of Dallas. It's pretty awesome to see people up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday to vote, isn't it?

5. Here's to all the Texas Dem's that have kept the faith!
I live in North East TX (rural) and it is pretty special to see Obama signs even though people are very discreet and (quite frankly) scared to put bumper stickers, wear buttons, etc, regarding their political leanings when they are not Repuks.

However, I have a "I am a proud American Democrat" Sticker on my auto (since '99)and nothing has happened except I get a lot of "Jesus loves you".:toast:
