Man arrested for threatening Ohio SOS Jennifer Brunner
Man Accused Of Threatening Secretary Of State Arrested
Friday, October 24, 2008 9:58 PM

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man accused of making threatening phone calls to the Ohio Secretary of State's office was arrested on Friday. The State Highway Patrol said Dana McArtor was charged with intimidation in a threat phone last week to the office of Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner. The state filed a motion to set a $1 million bond for McArtor, 51, and order a psychiatric exam to determine competency, 10TV News reported. McArtor was scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday. Brunner's office said it has been inundated with threats amid a busy pre-election season of voter lawsuits and alleged registration irregularities. Brunner, a Democrat, was elected in 2006 on a platform critical of Republican Secretary of State Ken Blackwell's election oversight.

========

Sure are alot of dangerous weirdos supporting John McCain. This is really getting out of hand. The McCain campaign needs to tone it down and make some statements condemning this kind of activity or something worse may happen.

1. It's time to confront the dangerous propaganda in this country.
It's not a free speech issue when these sources are on our airways pretending to be legitimate information for the public.

3. I am getting concerned that election day could be trouble.
Hopefully the outcome will be so obvious perhaps the weirdos will just lose all hope and stay home.

12. McSame's campaign
has pushed the 'hate button' on these stupid people....and believe me, there are a ton of stupid people in Ohio. We have had a Brain Drain. And our state was once known for higher education.

Jennifer Brunner is the best person for the position of SoS. I have the utmost faith and respect for her. But she better hadn't get into any small planes.

15. You think they'll wait until November 5th?
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 10:28 AM by Stagecoach
That's giving them some credit. I don't know, the way some of these whack-jobs are thinking, I wouldn't be surprised election results are the secondary story on the night of November 4th. I'm afraid the primary story that night is going to be reports of violence and so forth that these wingnuts are doing or have done.

16. Anything is justified to save the unborn, according to the nutjob theocrats behind this
behavior. I even wonder if right to life was created as a hate-focusing issue by some clever propagandist back when this new version of the KKK got started back with the Texas Republican platform some 2-3 decades ago. Race was no longer acceptable, so they drummed up right to life.
