Moose for Biden

Went to see Joe Biden today in Suffolk, Virginia and came across this moose for Biden.

I managed to snag press credentials (media connections for the win!) and got pretty close to Joe as he was pressing the meat with the people. It was my old high school gym ;-)



I just wish I could have shaken his hand too, but the Obama/Biden media coordinator told me it's a big no-no (even though I had no press identifying marks).

With my press pass, I got to go up on the stage while he was shaking hands. I felt so out of my element...like the SS were about to bust me for sweet talking the campaign workers for my creds. Everyone was really cool up there with me though. The Obama media coordinator had to warn me not to make any sudden moves...lol.

You can just feel on the positive energy.

Wow. That moose suit made me look fat. :)

I also love the last pic of Joe, he has such a great smile. You guys in VA are lucky, the rest of us red state and blue state folks just have to watch the Obama or Biden rallies on tv or the computer.

I was trying to get a little news camera time with my outfit. I figured that this late in the election, any time on the news with a positive Obama/Biden message (You can see the message on the back of the shirt at http://t-shirts.cafepress.com/item/supermoose-ringer-t/319005284) would steal from McCain/Palin time. Unfortunately, the press were all inside, and I wasn't allowed inside with the costume. I give big thanks to the Suffolk City Police, though - they went above and beyond to try to get me permission to come in. Those guys were seriously awesome. But the secret service wouldn't permit it - it probably would have violated some regulation from the Department of Wildlife & Fisheries.

Despite not getting in, it was still a lot of fun! I'd do it again.

I thought it was a great idea, to bad they wouldn't let you in, I think Senator Biden would of loved it. I do have a pic of what it said on the back and here it is:

I think Senator Biden would have liked it, too. But in retrospect, I think it was probably better that they didn't let me get near Biden while in costume. The GOP would have probably tried to spin it as Biden being anti-hunting.
