New Mexico crowds: McCain 1000. Obama 35,000 (and that's just the folks inside the event!)
"The consensus among media covering the McCain event was that his crowd numbered approximately 1,000. A crowd count released during Obama's rally by the University of New Mexico fire marshal tallied 35,000 who entered the gates at the event’s perimeter, and the campaign estimated that another 10,000 to 15,000 stood outside it. (McCain's campaign does not release crowd estimates.)"

7. Largest political rally in Albuquerque history.
And to think, a few weeks ago New Mexico was considered a battleground state.

"Barack Obama hosted the largest political rally in Albuquerque history Saturday night at Johnson Field at the University of New Mexico, attracting a crowd that television stations estimated at 35,000 and the Associated Press put at 45,000. Whatever the number, it was a once-in-a-generation political event and if it had any predicative powers for what what will happen Election Night John McCain is in for a world of hurt. The Obama rally outdrew McCain's rally held earlier in the day at the NM Expo grounds by a margin of 35 to 1."
