Palin in Tampa: wearing consignment shop jacket, hair uncoiffed...
Edited on Sun Oct-26-08 11:47 AM by npincus
She looks fine, less polished for sure, but appropriate... Republican ELITES are such sexist, superficial a-holes, dressing her up in couture fashion, with pricey cosmetic and hair alterations, like it mattered. So much for the "respectable Republican cloth coat". Why wear a cloth coat when you can wear Valentino?

"Well, that's about it. That's what we have. And that's what we owe. It isn't very much. But Pat and I have the satisfaction that every dime that we have got is honestly ours. I should say this, that Pat doesn't have a mink coat. But she does have a respectable Republican cloth coat, and I always tell her she would look good in anything."- Richard Nixon

3. not yet, the rally is happening now... some live clips on MSNBC
Her jacket is powder pink (not a power-color)and less tailored than the desinger wear. But it's nice enough... I don't believe had she always dressed like this it would have made a damned bit of difference. She is very attractive, has a nice figure.

5. "Hooowwwww-DEE!"

Sarah does her best to appease the voters with some down-home Alaska Fried Chicken.

(Small note: Did you know Minnie Pearl's real name was Sarah? I didn't.)

4. I watched a bit with dh, and said "boy, her hair looks like shit today
can't believe she paid anything for that bad of a styling." Reading your post, guess she pulled a DIY'r this morning.

And deliberately made it look rank - I've seen photos of this moron in AK where she got her hair blowed out decently all by herself. The part we watched was a joke - her and Hasselbeck spent most of their time talking about clothing, styling, etc. I finally said "I can't believe I am hearing a candidate for VP discussing her freaking hair and consignment clothes" and with that I turned it off.

6. LOL... she was trying to make a point.
She is attractive, she doesn't need a lot of 'work' to look good. I guess the Repubs thought if she looked nice enough, no one would pay attention to the gibberish she spewed.

8. These republicans and their fixation on nothing more than how "attractive" Sarah is!!
I saw her in the part of the Brian Willims interview where she was speaking by herself (without her minder McCain), and had the unattractive thought myself that she looked a bit ragged and older - there were circles not all that well concealed under her eyes, her skin was dried out, and the her laugh lines/wrinkles looked a bit deep. She looked a bit aged (speaking here as someone approaching 51, and well aware that we just don't stay young and wide awake looking forever!) around her edges. It is the point where if you don't get enough sleep, you figure out why they call it "beauty rest" - a lack thereof translates straight to your looks and not for the best.

Right then I thought - she won't be around for 2012, because she will be close enough to 50 that she will start not looking so hot. I've seen her other family members, like her cousin Dianne, the now mayor of Wasilla, and others, and none of them age particularly well. I guess this is a just live by the sword, die by the sword kind of deal. Some of her supporters, even high up repubs, mention one of her prime qualifications is that she is good looking, "attractive".

Once that goes, then all they will have is someone who looks old like their moms, not "hot" like eye candy should be. And with no real ideas, and world salad statements, it won't be enough for them to keep her as the promise of their party future. Botox, makeup artists and tanning beds will only produce a better packaged "older woman" look, which will make the geezers wither at the sight.

Like a cheerleader that traded only on her looks, winks, tanning bed, suggestive gestures and knee high leather boots, only to find that doing that as an older woman just doesn't make her boys happy anymore.

Those people are that shallow. Sarah Palin will be too old to run in 2012, even though she will only be 48 years young, because she sn't hot anymore. If not by then, she definitely will look old by 2016. What a sad world it is in which those people live.

10. Could possibly be the WORST campaign in history. The McGimmick Campaign.
Oh.. I see.. that's how they fix this elitist 150k bullshit? Uncoiffed hair and consignment jacket? They are so ridiculously and painfully stupid. McCain's advisors should be working at Kmart by this time next year.. Attention Blue Light Voters!!!!
