1. I wondered when I first heard this whether we were looking at some sort of Oct. Surprise...
I try to avoid defaulting to that, but amping up the fear seems like the last desperate choice for a Republican party that is dangerously close to disintegrating.

6. No, it is not. It is a border raid like any other.
The western Iraqi border is a common entry point for foreign fighters and supplies for insurgents. The United States frequently launches attacks on crossing points. Today, it looks like they targeted a house on the wrong side of the border. This is not an "attack on Syria," nor will it lead to any further developments, nor is it going to factor into this race, nor is it worth more than a few seconds' thought.

Usually you're a bit more stable, Frenchie.

7. They're reporting it as "FIRST TIME we have attacked INSIDE Syria.. civilian casualties." No need
to attack Frenchie. None.

8. It's nothing, Frenchie. It's just another border attack.
This time into Syria ... that's the only new wrinkle.

We're all wound up right now. Will McCain try to use it? Of course he will ... he'll use anything to get any advantage.
But it has zero traction.
