1. Just think if we had Big Media beating the Ashley drum 24/7
like they would be if some Dem had faked a sexual assault for political points.

29. and the NYTimes saying Obama's Inauguration Speech is already written (not true)
the person they said had written it actually wrote it last spring as part of a book and it had nothing to do with Obama (he was working for Clinton at the time).

and Obama writes his own big speeches.

6. Looks like a standard weekend hiccup for McCain
His numbers are always better on the weekend than on weekdays. This just fits that pattern.

7. The uncomfortable trend
Are a couple polls moving slightly away from us because people are actually stupid enough to believe his bold-faced, white hot, baseless lies he's been telling out of desperation?

12. The graph shows it over the last 4 days
Edited on Sun Oct-26-08 04:10 PM by EastTennesseeDem
And just for the record, I'm feeling safe right now. No negativity from me regarding where Barack is. It's just the impossible prospect of McCain's bullshit working. It would feel worse for me than voter fraud if people bought it.

26. AGREE 100%
If McCain would win the presidency on lies and more lies (and the media not doing it's job in calling him out) it would hurt very much...alot like in 2000 and 2004, maybe worse!

but I really do not think at this point in time in the campaign anything will actually help McCain win...he may get closer but cannot win this thing....

9. what is the movable number for?
Only 3% undecided there. If Obama got 1% of that to get to 53% (which is about the limit of my optimism), that would be a PV and EC blowout.

10. Don't worry - combo of noise, plus the fact that it is a BIG lead.
Even landslide elections have been pretty tight on popular vote...it is all about the EV/States! Keep the faith!

I don't think the Sarah Palin wardrobe shit or the B-Hoax helped him, don't think their stepped up negativity is working either.

33. Off the trail
Obama was off the trail on Friday, and then the weekend rolled in. OUt of sight, out of mind, and all that. I'm happier than ever that he has this big address on Wednesday night. Basically, the window of opportunity for McCain to grab the spotlight is Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday will be an automatic change of topic due to Obama's unprecedented speech. Hopefully, that gets him to the weekend. Then it's off to the races!

I also suspect the number of voters who identified as Democrats dropped a bit...

34. Not really sure, but pollsters were trying to figure this out during the primary season, it was
noticeable that during the weekend Obama’s’ numbers would drop slightly (2,3 , even 4 points). Some tried to explain it by saying that Obama's demographics are less likely to be at home during the weekends.
