McCain on Obama: "blah, blah, blah"
McCain on Obama: "blah, blah, blah"
from The Swamp by Jill Zuckman

by Jill Zuckman

Cedar Falls, Iowa - "When I'm elected president We're going to stop spending $700 billion to buy oil from countries that don't like us very much," McCain said at Norther Iowa University this morning.

"You know, the other night in the debate with Senator Obama, I said his eloquence is admirable, but pay attention to his words. We talk about offshore drilling and he said he would quote, consider, offshore drilling. We talked about nuclear power, well it has to be safe, environment, blah, blah, blah."

(Hoots, hollers and applause.)

"And the fact is, ask any Navy veterans here. By the way, some of the greatest sailors come farthest away from the ocean. I found that to be true. Ask some of our Navy veterans here. They'll tell you. We've been sailing Navy ships around the world for 50 years with nuclear power plants on them.

"I have news for Senator Obama, nuclear power is safe, we ought to do it now. The British, the French, the Japanese, all reprocess spent nuclear fuel. We can do that, too. And by the way, he said he would consider off shore drilling. We'll drill off shore and we'll drill now."

(chants of drill baby, drill)

2. Yes, because mocking Obama worked so well when Hillary did it
This year, it's clear that the negativity isn't being bought by the majority of the American people, yet McCain just keeps pouring it on, like an addict who can no longer help himself. He's going to go through some serious withdrawal once this campaign is over.

3. Why is this old man obsessed with Barack Obama?
Has anyone pointed this out to the Secret Service? I mean, this old coot really seems to hate Obama, it's all he talks about.

4. The issue with nuclear isn't so much safety as . . .
Capital.

And centralized production.

The future of energy is distributed production (individual building (including homes) based solar, farm based wind, coastal community tide, geothermal, etc.).

Obviously frivolous concepts that McCain has no use for! Keep talkin' McCain... independent voters just love to hear environmental issues trash-talked like that!
