Was this a freudian slip OR is work afoot to kick Palin out of the Guv's mansion?
This is from a NYT "Week in Review" article on Sarah Palin today.

There were articles on all 4 candidates about their temperment/the way they operate/etc.

These are the last two paragraphs of the article:

"These days, Ms. Palin sounds different to some Alaskans, who say they wonder what the McCain campaign has done with their governor. No doubt, she has always been tough, but never quite so fiercely partisan, according to some Democrats...." snip

NOW, THIS IS THE GOOD PART:

"There was a level of trust that developed," Beth Kerttula, a Democrat in the Legislature said. "The problem is not that none of that's left. If she comes back, it is going to be a real interesting two years to finish up as governor.

TO FINISH UP AS GOVERNOR, HUH?
THERE ARE NO TERM LIMITS IN AK.
ME THINKS THE PLAN IS ALREADY AFOOT TO SHOW THE GUV THE DOOR.
ONE CAN ONLY HOPE!!!!!

2. Actually, there are term limits,

two four-year terms for governor. You can run again if you sit out four years, which is how Tony Knowles got to run again in 2006.

I do see her as a one-term governor, though, although it wouldn't surprise me to see her run for Lisa Murkowski's seat in 2010 -- if we haven't destroyed her politically by then, which is my fervent wish.

By the way, Beth Kerttula isn't the only one to comment on how much Sarah has changed since she's been out on the national stage. Now everybody is speculating that this may have been her true self all along -- in which case, she was really manipulating and using us as a stepping stone, which isn't going over well at all.

It'll be really interesting when she comes back here.

4. Oh, I certainly will be keeping everyone up to date,

and I hope that it will be very entertaining. I used to actually kind of like her as governor, just as most of us did, even when disagreeing with a lot of her positions (especially environmental) but, boy, has she shown a side in the past two months that we never saw before, all that hatefulness and divisiveness. She was NEVER like that -- her strongest allies in the legislature were the Democrats, and she knew it, too. She even said at one time that it wouldn't bother her if Alaska went blue this time, and she spoke highly of Obama.

I don't know what to think -- but at this point, I just want to see her fall flat on her face after the harm that she's done to Alaska's reputation. It was bad enough having to deal with Ted and Don and the state legislators in jail -- she's really just last straw.
