Not Trying To Show "Concern," But Did Anyone Notice When It Said People Making < $200,000
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 08:06 PM by malik flavors
Will get a tax cut? What was up with that? When did it change from $250,000 to $200,000?

If I missed the memo, just point me in the right direction, but I never heard about this policy change.

Edit: Ok, people making <$200,000 get a cut & people making btwn $200,000-$250,000 don't get a cut, but they don't get taxes raised either. Got it.

Thanks dudes and dudettes.

21. No..that's not right..
under 200,000 gets cut, 200,000 to 250,000 stays flat, over 250,000 goes back to the tax rates of the Clinton years.

5. It's always been like that
"250,000 and below will not see any raise in taxes
In fact, those of you making less than 200,000 a year will receive a tax cut."

That's my understanding of it...

capitol gains taxes, not your income taxes ...

Make less then $250K - no tax increase.

The tax cuts actually seem to kick in more around $150,000 or less.

Does that make sense?

11. And Obama always said even people around 300K would
probably make the cut considering any other factors in their taxes. So yeah, and I believe as the poster above me said...the 200K is probably for single people.

15. I thought it was over $250,000, your taxes won't go up - not that you'll get a tax cut.
The part about under $200,000 getting a tax CUT was new to me.

17. It's not new. It's always been the plan.
less than $200,000: you get a tax cut

$200,000 - $250,000: no change in your taxes

more than $250,000: 3% increase on that portion above $250,000

16. It's what he's always been saying
Under $250k no tax increase, under $200k a tax cut that for most people is 3x the tax cut offered by McCain. Over $250k a tax increase of 3.6%

25. This question has been asked multiple times tonight
People are just getting tired of answering it. Perhaps we need to make one of these threads a sticky or something.

200k and below = tax cut.
250k and below = no tax increases.

Palin will be rockin that tomorrow. Count on it.

On edit: yes, I did read all of the replies on here explaining about the $200K, but I disagree that it's been clear about the no taxes versus lower taxes.

under 250 = same
under 200 = decrease
