In Pennsylvania, Muhlenberg Poll is the Gold Standard...Forget Mason-Dixon
I lived in Pennsylvania...Philadelphia, Scranton, and Wilkes-Barre. I know Pennsylvania. The MSM is making too much out of Mason-Dixon's poll. It is a flawed poll, leading questions gallore. The Muhlenberg Poll is the gold standard in Pennsylvania, akin to New York's Marist and Siena Polls. The polls may go all over the place but if the tracking poll (Muhlenberg) is stable, it means stable. This is a poll that records FIVE days of polling data and McCain has been in Pennsylvania with the Pig with Lipstick talking all kinds of non-sense about Obama for the last SIX days and the poll has not changed much. Now that the Phillies won the World Series, probably we'll have more people paying attention and it will be interesting to see what happens to this poll by Monday morning. I do not think that Obama will win by 12 or 13 points; however, a 5-7 point victory is more like it.

So...forget the Mason-Dixon Poll and MSNBC needs to take a look at Joe Scarborough and seriously consider firing him because he is doing a journalistic disservice to the network with his frivolous and biased statements and by being rude to the guests at Morning Joe. That show needs to be canceled or revamped to exclude Mika and Joe since they are becoming a laughing stock in America.

2. In his defense, covering up the mysterious death of an intern in one's office
will do that to a man.

8. Tell me this is real because if you are fucking with me I'll tie your esophagus in a knot.
I went out yesterday and spent almost $700 on a PlayStation 3 and some games.

Want to know why?

So I wouldn't have to think about the election. That's how fucking close I am to snapping. I'm on the fucking edge. I want to win so badly I can taste it. To have it snatched from our fingers so close to the end would kill me.

So tell me this is real. If it is not, you will have reduced me to a gibbering man-ape whose only response to political news will be to scream, fling shit, and hurt myself.

19. You're not the only one on edge
I check the Muhlenberg poll every morning. First site I visit. You can check it at http://www.mcall.com. That's the Allentown Morning Call. Click on "elections" link, wait for stupid flash thing to load, and then scroll way down. You'll see the daily tracking poll on the right side of the screen.

Hope the playstation thing distracts you a bit. It'll all be over soon. And you will feel very, very good.

4. Good to know
I've had an eye on that poll and it has been very stable and consistent.

I think Nate Silver is right. The only real thing to save McCain now is an external event of some sort.

5. I think I know Pa. too. I lived there 45 years in the Pgh. area. You're
right. Pa. will elect Obama! The few dimwits in rural central Pa. never really mattered in the past and still don't!

18. Right on.
I've live in western Pa practically my entire life. How does Carville describe our state? Something like Philly on one side, Pittsburgh on the other, Alabama in the middle.

16. Yep.
There are many of us political junkies who can't abide CNN, find our local news channels a bore fest between 6-7 AM EST, despise the Today Show and the other network drivel that comes on at 7, and our cable boxes block Fox News. For many of us, the last channel we watched the night before was MSNBC (Keith & Rachel), so the TV is tuned to MSNBC when we first turn it on in the AM. But these days, within five seconds, Joe or Mika are guaranteed to say something that make us dive for the remote.

20. Have you seen questions from Mason-Dixon?
I'd love to see some internals on that one, but it doesn't seem as though they share those. The Muhlenberg poll seems very stable. I like that... One thing I don't like is the way they define "likely voter". They exclude all respondents who indicate they aren't paying "extreme" or "very" close attention to the race.

I think Obama will carry PA by 6-8.
