1. Define Battleground states?
Is it 2, 3, or the 8 that Obama is competing in, not to mention Arizona where Obama is picking up his ad buys. Does this also include nationwide ads? Because I live in IL (w. Chicago Suburbs), and I've been seeing ads non-stop on the cable news stations. Little to nothing for McCain. And does that count RNC funds?

McCain, GOP nearly matching Obama on ad spending in the most crucial states

WASHINGTON (AP) _ After weeks of being out-advertised by Barack Obama, John McCain and the Republican Party are nearly matching the Democrat ad for ad in key battleground markets.

Ad spending and ad placement data obtained from Democratic and Republican operatives show that in the closing days of the campaign the Republican voice has grown louder in states such as Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
