Here comes Carville.
This could be really good. Imus has been pretty harsh on the coward and his fat veep this morning.

3. Imus is strongly opposed to the Iraq War.
Even his right wing, bigoted cohort Bernie is opposed to the war.

2. Summary of Carville's comments:
Edited on Wed Sep-08-04 06:50 AM by speedoo
1. Clinton doing well, his conversation with Kerry re. the campaign just another indication that clinton is still crazy about politics.

2. Kerry's comments yesterday about the 1,000th death (fighting for freedom, part of the war of terror) reflect the fact that he is a candidate for president and it is always appropriate that he support troops in battle and not diminish the reason they are there. HOWEVER, it is also important to note that the people in Washington who are running this war are "idiots". Went through the litany of the coward and rummy promising "things will get better". Talked about the NYTimes article shows we are actually losing the war.

3. Talked about his kid's book.

4. Talked about how the rethugs used Zell Miller, manipulated him in the twilight of his career. Wrote the speech for him, told him what to say, and it was obvious that he was not prepared to defend what he said in the follow up interviews.

5. The polls by Time and Newsweek are ridiculous. Bush is ahead, Kerry had a bad August but Carville feels much better about the campaign today.

Disappointed they did not get into the AWOL stuff. But Carville will be on again.

David Gregory (NBC) up next, then Harold Ford.

4. Imus Panders...
Yesterday he was trashing Kerry...with his usual band of idiots.

Sorry...Imus got a look from me for about a month and when he bitched at Kerry's train not stopping at his ranch and doing an impromptu grovel...as a reason he decided not to endorse Kerry and now is undecided...click!

I'm also getting a bit tired of the Carville "mystique". Yes, he's a great strategist and Democrat but he was 1992, not 2004. I like to hear his take on things and hope he keeps chewing Douchevak and Bow Tie boy to pieces, but he's not the face nor the way for this campaign. If anything, Kerry's problem is TOO much help, too many chiefs...time now to let the campaign do its thing and leave the Monday morning quarterbacking to later.

I posted yesterday that Imus was playing up Kerry since he used to appear on his show and thought he'd be a Kerry media pet...get exclusive interviews (like he did with Clinton in '92) and play kingmaker. Kerry didn't do this. Support from this weasel is no suport at all.

5. Imus is a phony
Edited on Wed Sep-08-04 08:09 AM by RatTerrier
He's a phony Kerry supporter, a phony cowboy, a phony shock jock, and a phony political pundit. He's living off what he did in his prime back in the 70's. And his anemic ratings show all of this. Also tends to go where the wind blows politically. He's a follower, not a leader.

If you want a host who seems to at least be honest with what he thinks politically, then it's Howard Stern all the way. He doesn't put on an act like Imus. At least he's honest - in the past, he'd admit that the first politician who called in to his show would get his endorsement. When he supports presidential candidates, he'll usually say why (often FCC and pro-choice issues). And he even invited Kerry on his show, but would understand if he didn't come on.

I had a broadcasting teacher back in college who had met Imus, and said that Imus is 100 times the narcissistic, arrogant asshole he is on the air. The teacher actually used words like 'mean' and 'cruel'. The guy's a schmuck.

6. Spot On, Rat...
Having had some radio in my blood (cough cough), I've encountered many who've run up against the "mighty" Imus.

In the 70's he was a disk jockey...read corny jokes (his 1975 album...yep he released one...is among the most lame comedy albums ever attempted) and made it big in NYC just because he survived. He rode to the top on WNBC while WABC was burning out. He's a survivor and got that way by crapping on anyone and everyone who gets in his way.

Yes, Stern puts a lot more into his show than Imus does. I'm no Stern fan, but I admire what he's been doing and his speaking out about this regime. I catch his show now and then and his rants are pure masterpieces that I know are reaching an audience of disaffected and previous non-voters who we will be hearing from in November. Stern's worked his way up on his talents & moxie.

Imus has said on many occasions, he backs the candidate that he can make the most fun of. Some endorsement that is.

He claims he's one of the few Repugnicans in Manhattan and has goons on like Bernard McGuirk & Larry Kenney who spew bile. While I love seeing Kinky Friedman on now & then and Imus plays some good tunes, the rest of the show stinks to high heaven...has for years.

Cheers!
