Kerry campaign should not address Kitty Kelly's drug charges
It's inevitable that Kerry will be asked about the drug charges the book will make about GWB. If they aren't asked then they should call a press conference to rightfully point out that they have no way of knowing the veracity of the charges because Bush has refused to address substance abuse charges in the past. They should suggest that the press allow the Bush campaign to answer for themselves.

1. I agree...
Kerry should not comment, either way.

2. Do what the pugs do: refuse to address it officially
but have "unaffiliated" oundits and groups like MoveOn push the meme.

Kerry: "I have not read that book and have no comment about those allegations. I would rather focus on my plans for the future of America etc etc."

Pundit on talk show: "While John Kerry was a winning cases as a prosecutor in Massachussetts, George W. Bush was snorting half the GNP of Colombia up his nose."

Something like that.

4. Or try this,
Pundit to pundit:

"Listen, I'm not saying the allegations are true. How would I know? Yet if we get some more evidence to support these allegations, I's say our commander and chief has some tough quesitons to answer."

and...

"Everybody makes mistakes, but we need to allow the truth to come out so Americans can make the best choices about the character of their leaders."

3. Kerry could say something like,
"I denounce ALL people who are outing coke heads and alcoholics who run for public office! At least my rabid Republican opponents had the decency to lie about me and my record. These people have sunk so low as to actually tell truths about my opponent and I find that harsh and hitting below the belt and I will not support anyone who calls Bush & Cheney alcoholic coke heads & hypocritical war mongers."

Would that be OK?
