Right Now....
As a black woman, I've seen plenty, experienced plenty, been spat on, called names, embraced, loved, hated, encouraged, pushed, praised, raised and reared..all on this beautiful soil in my beautiful country. We are on the precipice of history...our experiences maybe different, but our goals are one in the same; equality, humanity, and a vision of hope and success.

We've made history and we, as a people, as a country have more to make..we have mountains to move and a future to shape, so I say to all of you who have taken this ride, seen the this country at its worse and at its best..let us push on..

The TIME IS NOW...

OUR TIME IS HERE..

The future is calling..let us embrace it..let us cheer for it..let us LIVE IT!

I wrote this because I'm spent, utterly emotionally worn out..and I had to get it off my chest, put it on the table, so to speak, so I can keep moving..and keep working with a renewed and refreshed heart and soul. Keith Olberman, took me back tonight, and moves me forward still.

May angels smile upon DU and its members and loved ones, and may the rivers of freedom flow for us and through us..WE ARE WHO WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR...let us not forget!

We are right here....we have arrived. Now is the time!

And to think I might live to see it. Yes, we are the ones our parents warned us about.

3. Now is the time!
I am 43 and I haven't suffered the horrible things that you have mentioned. My parents brought me up to respect those events and the people that suffered through them.

Thanks for making it easier for the younger generations!

Yes we Can!!

2 Day's....

7. K&R I'm moved by your outlook...
I can't pretend to know what it feels like to have lived the life of a Black person growing up in America; but I do know that words are woefully to inadequate to describe the experience.

Thank you for your hard work and optimism in the face of wave after wave of disappoining times. I salute you and I wish you abiding love and strength. :patriot: :pals:

8. Yes, it's time. I'm just sorry it took so long. But we all have to
remember in the coming days that we didn't get in this mess overnight and it will take a long time to clean up Bush's mess; let's be as tolerant and patient as we can be and help Barack. I don't want to hear "it's been a week and he hasn't done a damn thing". He will need two terms and we have to give them to him. Keith moved you, you moved me.

9. I'm a refugee from the 60s ... worked with RFK in OR and CA ...
This is America's "V for Vendetta" moment, the moment Martin saw on the mountaintop.

Thank you so much for your heart-felt post. It gave me good shivers. Honored to recommend it.

14. It's like I'm a kid again and it's Dec. 23...
When I get nervous (I come from a long line of worriers) I just calm myself by imagining how, in my heart, I know so many people will feel on Nov. 5. All the tears of happiness. That America will at last live up to its promise. It is time.
