I need to carry O2 canisters so I can breathe and there is no way I could lug enough of the stuff with me in order to keep me full of vim and vigor the whole time...
But Mrs. WCGreen is going.
She has been working for Obama for almost two months now, knocking on doors, organizing volunteers, making calls and just exerting a whole lot of effort. It's almost as if she was doing enough for two.
I did what ever I could in the 90's before I feel sick. She has picked up the torch, now, putting a lot of her time and effort so that we both would be represented.
I know it's all about the younger folks, they are the ones who need Obama more than most of the rest of us.
They need Obama so they can have hope to dream about a future that won't be more of the same and hold none of the promise that our generation enjoyed.
It's nice to watch the cynicism that thirty years of being enmeshed in Cleveland politics can build up inside of you be washed away by the tears of joy of those around you.
I have always been proud to be an American. Please, not in that fakey Lee Greenwood way.
But I had lost faith in the way things are done.
Sen. Obama, the future is yours. Please take better care of it than my generation did. Please do it for your children. Do it for the guys and gals fighting these seemingly endless wars. Do it for the Unions that have found their hearts again. Do it for the future generations of Americans that will one day look back on this time and say, He Was a Great President.
Make us proud, Sen Obama, make us proud...
