I've never seen people so nervous...and I count myself in this group...
...when it's two days before the election, and for a solid MONTH now not a single poll has had us losing.

We need to get over ourselves, as do I. :)

2. One word: Fraud
If I could have faith in the integrity of voting in the United State of America, I wouldn't be nervous right now. But we have no idea what sort of trickery that have programmed into those voting machines. We're at the mercy of the crooks. Not a good place to be.

4. But the Republican internal polls show McCain winning...
that should make us all worry! I mean, out of dozens of well respected polls, only RSC got it right. McCain is winning by a landslide. :eyes:

And yes, I'm nervous as hell, even though all the evidence says Obama will be our next President. It sucks!

6. Many of us have witnessed 2 lost elections due to nefarious reasons
and are obviously nergious about losing the 3rd...

But...I do have a high degree of optimism...the signs are good.

9. I'm on
an emotonal roller coaster ride. Everytime one of those cable commentators diagram out how McCain can win the election - by winning all the states he's behind in - I get all queazy. I know it's irrational. I know they talk like this because they have 24 hours to fill with whatever they can find.

Actaully I think McCain should put some last minute money into CA and see if he can peel that one away from Obama

10. It is called E.A.D.
Election Anxiety Disorder. I read about it here a few days back. The symptoms vary from person to person and the only real cure is victory. Can you hold on for a couple more days?

pants and eating my nails.. I canvased yesterday for Obama and it looks so good for Obama that i have to pinch myself to believe it.

Lot's of doors i knocked ppl have already voted or will be voting for Obama. It was great!.. If it wasn't because I canvassed yesterday a 19 year old would probably have never voted. I knocked on his door, asked for his name ( i was expecting someone older) it turns out the person i was asking for was him.. I asked if he supported Obama and if he had voted, he said, he supported Obama and he has not voted because he never received his voting card and didn't know what to do or where to go. He had registered to vote six months ago at the DMV when he went to get his driving license for the firs time. I asked him if he had contacted the dept of elections? He said no because I go work all day at the mall and only get half hour lunch.. - You know - 19 years olds..

I decided that while i was speaking with the young man to call the Department of Elections myself, I asked for a specialist, told her to hold because i had someone that wanted to know if he was registered..

It turns out that they young man was indeed registered (along with his friend that was also there at the house who was also 19 years old), the specialist from DOE gave them both their polling place to vote on Tuesday.

Edi for Typos..

: )))

The two young men were so excited I was there and they were able to find out they were registered to vote. They both promised me they will wake up early in the morning on Tuesday to go vote.

I kept both of their numbers so i can follow up on Tuesday and make sure they go to the polls.

: )

13. I have a sign hanging up in my dorm room that reads:
"Don't worry about shit you can't control." I think a lot of DUers need to take that to heart.

I couldn't feel calmer or happier or more secure.

Obama will win on Tuesday. No doubts at all.

15. DUers!!! I am so glad I found this place!
I am beside myself with emotion; Inside, I feel a mounting swell of joy that I can't contain, but at the same time, fear and memories of the last few elections tries to kill the joy. I am a basket case, but I wouldn't miss being a part of this for anything.

This is the biggest thing that has ever happened in my lifetime (IMHO).

I would give my life for an Obama win, though I hope it doesn't come to that. We are on the precipice of great change. the world wants to evolve and an Obama win would be a huge part of that evolution. It's so profound, that I can't speak about it with anyone in person.

That's why I thank you all at DU for being here.

I hear a Le Mis song in my head.....:-)

16. I'm terribly nervous and afraid--
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 11:32 AM by fifthgendem
we've just had the rug pulled out from underneath us so many times, it's hard NOT to be worried. I'm not a very trusting person, and it's hard for me not to imagine that something will happen before Tuesday night.

It's getting so bad that at times I have to tell myself to keep breathing. Insanity . . . .

I'll be an absolute mess on election night. I don't think I'll be able to sleep Tuesday until this thing is finished, which means Wednesday should be fun! :<)

He said, "this is like waiting for christmas". But he's still more nervous than that because he's worried something will go wrong.
