Anderson, IN Herald-Bulletin endorses OBAMA!

Published October 31, 2008 09:57 pm - Barack Obama, for a host of reasons, is the leader the United States so desperately needs right now.

EDITORIAL: Obama shows promise to inspire, lead

We endorse: Barack Obama for president of the United States.

Barack Obama, for a host of reasons, is the leader the United States so desperately needs right now. More than his opponent, John McCain, Obama represents both a clean break from the failed policies of the Bush administration and a bright hope for a better future.

Throughout the campaign and his brief but auspicious career in public office, Obama has demonstrated the ability to evaluate complex issues and frame sophisticated — and sound — solutions.

John McCain criticized Obama during the campaign for his eloquence, but this nation needs a great orator (How long has it been since we’ve had one?) to inspire us and move us to action.

Obama’s positions on the war in Iraq, health-care reform, energy and a slew of other issues reflect that he is a deep and creative thinker with the interests of the Heartland, including Madison County, in mind. His repeated visits to Indiana indicate his determination to pull off an upset in the Hoosier state.
