They have thrived because that POS Rove and Co. have allowed them absolute access to the White House, and have treated them like a member of the Communications Office. they're pissed cuz they'll go back to being the tabloid trash they are, when the Dems take the White house back.

As far as the troops? Well.. all I have to say is that the military on the ground tends to be mixed politically, though I suspect they are very much more Obama than McCain. There is a tradition that the officers are solid repubs, and that has been the case in my area (which has 3 military bases nearby, and the officers tend to live in our town.) HOWEVER.. this year? Many of the officers have crossed over and voted for Obama and our Democratic Governor. These are lifelong, military officer, republicans, who voted for Obama.
