1. Don't they realize we're going to burn all their bibles first?
Then we'll start in on putting an abortion clinic on every street corner, just like convenience stores. :sarcasm: :eyes:

3. Why aren't these 'good' Christians in church?
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 11:49 AM by Chloroplast
I am so SICK of the Pro-Lifers that are gung ho about an unborn child and so quick to turn their back on that child once they leave the womb. The photographs are beyond unnecessary and the signs outright lies. Who is Pro-Abortion? WTF? I'm tired of the emotional blackmail and I'm tired of the Church foisting these lunatics on us at every Mass. If the Church wants to get into the business of politics, start paying fucking taxes.

ETA: I just realized this is my Aunt's parish. :eyes: Go figure.

5. Fucking Cobb County can blow me. I went down there for a job interview
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 11:52 AM by ChimpersMcSmirkers
years ago and while I was waiting I chatted with some people about the area. It didn't take long for them to tell me that the county voted down having the subway extended to the county. Several people told me that they we're glad because they were scared that those inner city "people" would be able to easily come out there. Someone refered to MARTA, the acronym for the transit system as Moving Africans Rapidly Thorugh Atlanta....

8. And what did their President Bush do to stop abortion?
That's right, not a damn thing. Abortion is just as legal as ever after 8 years of Bush.

These people don't know that they are being used by the Republic Party.

18. If I were there, I'd pass out a flyer
showing the number of abortions under Clinton and under the Bush presidents. At the bottom I'd mention that the Democratic position on abortion is to make it safe, legal, and rare--and then ask how come the GOP when they were in power did nothing to stop abortion, but actually caused more abortions to happen.

29. Umm, why weren't those kids in school?
I detest parents using their kids as political pawns in regards to abortion protests. Those kids should have been in school and not holding up signs about an issue they aren't yet mature enough to understand.

Oh well, I like my little corner of Cobb Co. I live in a nicely racially and economically mixed region of Cobb, so I've seen very few McCain/Palin signs around here. Though I have seen far more Obama stickers in my immediate vicinity over the last month or so... :) And the voter turnout here has been amazingly strong over the last week...

I feel sorry for these kids who have been brainwashed into thinking this way, but the adults can fuck right the hell off. Idiots and low info voters latching onto the last thread of hope that they have so they can keep the dreams of their theocracy alive.

33. Election after election... and they are still clueless about being used...
Roe vs Wade will never, ever be overturned! If it were to be overturned, the RW wouldn't have that string to pull anymore!

What a bunch of morans. They are had year after year, election after election... and with all the years that Republicans have been in power, they still haven't actually done anything to change this ruling.

Jesus, why are so many of your followers incredibly stupid?

Below is what is posted on the church's website.

http://www.st-ann.org/

"A Word of Clarification:

Last Sunday outside the morning masses you may have noticed a protest taking place, people with political signs and truly inappropriate, graphic anti-abortion pictures. As the Pastoral Leadership of St. Ann's, we want to make it perfectly clear that neither the Parish Leaders nor the St. Ann's Respect Life Ministry was involved in this demonstration. We wholeheartedly disavow their actions and their totally inappropriate use of such graphic materials. As Catholics and as a Catholic Faith Community, we are strongly pro-life in our belief and support the anti- abortion stand of our Church leaders and our faith. However, we also believe that in all aspects of life there are boundaries in how a message is presented--we believe that this independent group crossed those boundaries and we apologize for their actions. I spoke with them about the trauma that their actions were causing especially families with small, impressionable children coming to church and asked them on your behalf to leave. they refused to respect your wishes as concerned families and of us as parish leadership. We informed the police who came but could not move them because we were told they were on public property. They never asked permission or had a permit to be here and would have been denied it. Again we apologize for their actions which cause such confusion and hurt in our families. We assure you that St. Ann's leadership and our Respect Life ministry in no way condoned the activities of this independent group, and no Catholic church gave them support in this. The message of support for
Pro-Life is vital, but means such as this we believe are more divisive than uniting. We are truly saddened by their choice of action."
