He always made it a lot of fun and he is someone I really respect and like. Here are a few of his saying from 2004:

"This race is hotter than a Times Square Rolex."

"His lead is as thin as turnip soup."

"This race is humming along like Ray Charles."

"The presidential race is swinging like Count Basie."

"This race is hotter than the Devil's anvil."

"Ohio becomes like a sauna for the two candidates. All they can do is wait and sweat."

"One's reminded of that old saying, 'Don't taunt the alligator until after you've crossed the creek.'"

"This situation in Ohio would give an aspirin a headache.''

1. His catch phrases WERE funny. But now we have Tweety and he compares everything to
a movie reference.

It's hilarious/insane.

2. Didn't he compare the race to a ride home from the beach in a sandy wet bathing suit?

4. "a too-long ride home from the beach in a too-tight bathing suit"
or something like that?

6. I'll miss him too. "If a frog had side pockets, he'd carry a handgun."
This will be the first election I can remember where I won't be watching Dan Rather.

7. Did he only do that on election night?
I was watching a YouTube of 1992 coverage tonight and he said something like, "What I'm about to tell you will make the wax pop out of your ears."

Did he say stuff like that on the evening news or just on election night?

8. "I think these poll numbers are as off as a calico dress on a West Texas prom night."
(Keith Olbermann's version of Dan Rather)
