Would there be a need for data entry volunteering tomorrow?

I know they type in the results of phone calls, but I'm not sure what else or if it will be needed tomorrow. My voice is about gone but I still want to help volunteer.

If you can make it through one call, phone the campaign office and ask if there's any other way you can help. I'm sure there's something that can be done that doesn't involve phone calls. And thanks for your enthusiasm despite your laryngitis!

Or do it from home at least. I don't want to have to sit next to others coughing up a lung while they're on the phone.

4. Oh, good. I have a question for you then

I've only done registration drives and phone banking, so I don't know how the data entry works.

I heard some places you have to bring in a laptop to do it (which is no problem if my HQ does), but do you have to install a program on it or is it done through a web browser? I have a Linux OS on my computer and I'm guessing they wouldn't have the right software for it.

You'll need a wireless browser, and then you'll get into their network. At least that's how we do it!

We use a program called VoteBuilder, and I believe that's a national program...

We just typed in the name into our browser address place, and there it was...

Very easy!

We were using IE on the desktops...

The thing to do is call!

My laptop also uses IE...

3. you don't even have to type -- they use a bar code scanner

and yes Monday and Tuesday -- even more important on Tuesday.

They will be updating the information from the polls and going back to the data base and try and find any strong supporters who haven't voted yet and get them to the polls.
