Heartfelt thanks from this baby boomer to all the young folks
who have been the engine for the Obama ground game. I know that volunteers come from all age groups, but every time I see pictures of an Obama office I see a preponderance of young people. So Gallup and others may continue to downplay the impact of the youth vote, but I don't believe their numbers and they refuse to acknowledge the energy that Barack harnessed in making the most effective campaign of my life. Here's to you young volunteers, I salute you. GOBAMA !!!

8.  Life's a circle. My Mom and Dad were great Democrats who
raised me with the right values. After Dodd lost and I was without a candidate my son convinced me that Barack could win. That was what got me past my fears that America was unlikely to elect an African-American. Over the course of the campaign I have been blown away by his intelligence, toughness and temperament just as my son told me I would be. My parents are not here to see what I believe will be an historic moment tomorrow. But their spirit lives in me and my son. And that's pretty darn cool. GOBAMA !!!

13.  I love watching their smarts and enthusiasm. This really can
be an administration which reconfigures our politics for a generation or more. And these young people will be in the vanguard of the new leadership which will emerge.

19. Baby Boomer here...
...too. I saw the energy of the college-age groups in 2004, volunteering for Kerry/Edwards. I worried that they would give up in their disappointment. If anything, they are even MORE energized now...and more organized, thanks to Barack Obama.

The ones I saw in Nevada this month were smart, hard-working, and TOTALLY committed to electing Obama and turning this country around. I salute them for their patriotism and thank them for making this campaign a success.:patriot:

25.  JFK, RFK each brought a new cohort of young people into the
political process. Barack's legacy will not be confined to the accomplishments of his 8 years in office, God willing. He will also have motivated a new generation to the high calling of public service and liberal ideals.
