Photographic proof that EarlG (left) and I (right) were both at the rally last night. EarlG is wearing his DU shirt.




On the radio, they said there were somewhere between 90,000 and 100,000 people. Huge crowd. Note all the people holding up their cameras to take pics and video. I think EarlG got some video -- hopefully he'll get it up on YouTube.




That's actually Barack Obama behind the podium. But it was dark, and he was very far away, and my camera is too crappy to get it. Plus, I think his head was behind a teleprompter anyway...




The traffic was awful. And I had heard most of Obama's speech a million times before. But still it was an an amazing experience. The crowd was FIRED UP, READY TO GO. I am totally psyched that I was able to experience one of his rallies firsthand before the election. Someday I'll tell my kids and grandkids that I was there.

end an inspiring campaign.

My cats and dog looked at me like I was crazy, but I could not help myself.

I was standing way up by the Vote for Change sign. I could not even see obama but it didn't matter. I loved being there. so energizing!

Here in NJ we almost feel like there isn't an election going on. Neither candidate came to visit. No rallies, nothing. Glad I saw Obama back when he appeared before our primary with Teddy and Caroline.

It was HUGE! We took a lot of crowd pictures but they're on the camera my husband had to take to work. We tried to get Obama pictures but there were big lights behind him.

I'm gonna come and post a couple of my pictures when he brings his camera back home, okay!!!!???

When Obama himself came out and said it was 100,000 we looked at each other like "I'm not sure" but then the article I just found said 85,000! That's PRACTICALLY 100,000, close enough for me today :crazy:

ROCKED :headbang: Walking back to the cars took about 30 minutes and people around us would shout "I'm fired up!" and "ready to go!" sometimes, it was SO FUNNY!! Then this morning when we were waiting to vote I kept saying it, "I'm fired up!" "ready to go!" I love it!!! :loveya:

I watched the rally last night on streaming video. It was hard to comprehend how big the crowd was... but because the audio didn't synch with the video, I figured that the distance between the mic and the video cameras was significant. Wow... lucky you guys!!! What a great experience to be at the last rally.

I'm so happy you were able to make the rally. I never had the chance (Los Angeles is blue enough that he didn't need to spend time here, unfortunately for me), so I'm SO excited to share in the experience vicariously. :hi:

Here in Raleigh it was over 20,000! We gave up on fighting the traffic and couldn't wait the hours in ...but I was sorry to have missed being there in person. It is an historic time that we will all remember. Of course many of us felt that about Bill Clinton and the "change." But, at least we had eight years of better than the hell we've lived through since.

Let's hope that our Dems in House and Senater support Obama more than they did Carter or Clinton. And, if they don't he at least has the rest of us out here in the "netroots" watching his back.
