Thank God for FR. I went to Dem.underground and a couple of other sites to read their threads, looked for their threads, found them but couldn't figure out how to read them, and saw they all had some kind of voting system just to get the thread on the screen. All of them have tiny print. Thanks to Jim Robinson and his crew for giving us a readable and workable format!

28. My one compliment about FR...( ugh)
I hate to say this - I don't want to compliment FR any more than they deserve - but I like the fact that when a thread gets new replies, the newer replies go to the bottom of the posts.
I'd like to see that here. If I am following a thread, and come back a few hours later, I like to know which posts are the newer ones and which I've already seen, especially when there are sub-threads on top of sub-threads..

in a large thread with a few hundred posts, you can find an answer at post 300 but the question was from post 5. The flow just isn't there. The answer to that is what Daily Kos does, and puts "NEW" in red next to any replies added since your last trip to that thread. Of course you have to register to get that.

37. For the broadband challenged
on dial-up, DU (and almost every other website on the WWW) does pose challenges. FR is better in that one regard.

Remember, screen readers and dialup generally choke on the same sites: a dialup-unfriendly site is often a sign of a screen reader-unfriendly site.
