(AP) Kerry: Bush Is No Good Samaritan
NEW ORLEANS - Sen. John Kerry accused President Bush on Thursday of failing the Biblical test set by the Good Samaritan, saying, "He's seen people in need, but he's crossed over to the other side of the street."

The Democratic presidential candidate also branded Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas as out of the mainstream and said Bush will appoint more like them if re-elected.

"My friends, we have fought too hard and we've come too far to let George W. Bush roll back generations of progress," Kerry said. "John Edwards and I know that the whole future of civil rights and affirmative action may hinge on a single Supreme Court vote."

"Four years ago, George Bush came to office calling himself a compassionate conservative," Kerry said. "Well, in the story of the Good Samaritan we are told of two men who pass by or cross to the other side of the street when they come upon a robbed and a beaten man.

"They felt compassion, but there were no deeds. Then the Good Samaritan gave both his heart and his help. It is clear: For four years, George W. Bush may have talked about compassion, but he's walked right by. He's seen people in need, but he's crossed over to the other side of the street."

VERY glad to see him talking about SCOTUS. This is a VERY
important reason to vote Dem. Whoever serves over the next four years will surely appoint at least one justice, and one more arch-conservative will completely change the future on many issues.

4. Ive been watching news
with the rest of America.. and this is not being mentioned.. its all * all the time :( even when talking awol it ends with slamming Kerry.

If Kerry speaks and no one hears him - did he really speak?

It is very frustrating.

8. We the Same Thing...
Just watched all 3 network news shows, flipping back & forth, and all said Kerry is down in the polls.

CBS said he's fading with women voters.

NBC---Andrea Mitchell---said he's down in Ohio by 8, down in Moussiri by 14 and lost his Penn lead annd now it's tied.

It was all negative on Kerry.

When CBS mentioned Bush, they shows his Guard flight photo, but that was all.
