Joe Scarborough: Is It Time For Kerry To "Give Up"?
Edited on Thu Sep-09-04 09:18 PM by elperromagico
Yeah, you'd like that wouldn't you, you bastard? You'd like Kerry to give up in Ohio, like Gore did, and then lose the state by a mere 3 points - wouldn't you?

Bush has a lead in a few states and suddenly we need to throw in the towel? To hell with that.

6. Huh? Because of a slight dip during a 3 week period?
We're still in the Repub bounce. The race will only REALLY heat up in about two weeks, I figure.

10. Some people on this board were sure Bush would give up long ago
I didn't bookmark those threads but there are quite a few in the archives. They thought there was no way someone could fuck up so badly and expect to be re-elected.

11. I hope Joe "Dead Intern" Scabrous and all the media bloviators
and freepers and fundies and wingnuts puff up the Chimpinator to the point where all the Repubs get so arrogant they think the election is in the bag, and they get complacent and sloppy and ease up. Then we pounce.

22. I missed the Zogby contribution - It appeared as though he was
trying to explain to the beady eyed cracker Joe "banjo boy" Scarborough that the weighting of many of the polls out there is inaccurate. Pat Buchanan and Lawrence O'Donnell were on as well. I can't stand the noxious drawl of the boy from Deliverance so I didn't hear all of what was being discussed.

Scarborough is truly a despicable cretin.

20. Yep.
ALL Dees should just give up. Every one of them. Quit the government completely. Hand the entire country of the United States of America over to the Republicans.

Let the Repubs drive this country completely to its knees.

Maybe...MAYBE...when enough US citizens are disappeared into concentration camps, when enough are homeless on the streets rooting through garbage cans, when enough bleed to death on hospital steps from lack of insurance, when enough are frightened for their lives to speak a single word out of lockstep; maybe then the republican agenda will die for good, and maybe then Americans will say NEVER AGAIN.

That half this country would still support bush says all that needs saying about the level of intelligence in this county.

If the majority of this country want a fascist state dictatorship, then fine. Let them have it.

People who are willing to give up freedom for the sake of short term security, deserve neither freedom nor security.
-Benjamin Franklin

24. No, it's time for Joe to give up
I think his ratings went down one point so he should go back to Florida and Cheney himself til the cows come home. He shouldn't be on TV if his ratings are not number one.

/sarcasm

Why do you watch that show?

25. The start of the campaign to stop people from voting. Telling you to
not bother. It is disgusting. Here we are supposedly battling for democracy in Iraq. Fighting and dying so they can elect their leader. In the meantime do all you can to suppress the democratic process here. Purge voter rolls, make ballots unreadable, use voting machines that results can be altered on. Talk about being disrespectful to the soldiers dying in Iraq for freedom.

Then I'll give up for a day. How could all that battling for democracy have any real significance at all alongside Scott Peterson or Michael Jackson?

26. The "give up" headline was a transparent lie.
He was ONLY talking about Missouri. Crap journalism at its worst.

Zogby's comments were basically, it's a mid single digits race right now. If Kerry can get the focus off terrorism onto anything else... Iraq, Economy, Healthcare... he wins.

The rethug convention's success was in moving the discussion to terrorism, the coWard's only "strength". Kerry will have his hands full working against the power of the incumbency back off of terrorism, but he can certainly do it.

28. What are his numbers looking like?
Because if his ratings are as bad as they have been all year he needs to worry less about JK and start thinking about when he should be giving up.

31. Ratings don't matter to MSRNC
Donahue was their top-rated show (it only pulled a 0.7, but still...) and they cancelled it; the only justification I ever heard seemed to be b/c Donahue was too anti-war. Perhaps that's why Buchanan and Press got pulled as well...

MSNBC is basically worthless, although CNN is giving them a run for their money on which is more worthless...
