What is your ONE outstanding memory from the campaign?
I know there are so many, it's impossible really to pick out one - but was there a single moment/occasion/speech that stood out for you?

As a European I'd probably go for his speech in Berlin - wow, the size of that crowd! It just announced him to Europe, in a stunning way, and the excitement was tangible. As the headline put it at the time, 'Europe is ready to fall in love with America again'.

Over to you.

3. An Obama appearance on Letterman
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 08:11 PM by Winebrat
A couple of months ago. He had my support on policy and I had donated to the campaign, but I didn't know much about him personally. During that 20-30 minute chat with Dave I was convinced the guy was 100% genuine. He was so at ease, articulate, and smart. He totally sold me. And I was confident he could win.

7. When Obama waved directly at me and I shook Obama and Biden's hands.
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 08:23 PM by CarolinaPeridot
I saw him in Greensboro NC along with Biden on September 27. After standing in since 5am that morning at getting up to the left side of the stage right on the guard rail... Obama was on the podium waving to us in the crowd and I just started waving like crazy in front of him. He noticed and waved directly down to me. That was my Obama moment that I was thinking of watching him give his speech in Grant Park last night.

8. When he took both my hands at a rally and gave
me that wonderful grin of his! Without thinking about it I just burst out, "Thank you SO much!" That was when I realized how grateful I was that he was going to deliver us from the Bush years and give us our country back.

9. Can I Have Two?
I'll never forget him shooting back at McCain in the first debate that no soldier ever died in vain (giving up his/her life for this country.) That was so powerful I can't believe it didn't get more attention and I'll never forget Ohio being called for Obama - I read it here and said to my husband - "Quick turn on Fox! They called Ohio for Obama!!" - I knew then he'd won and my heart exploded w/ joy.

Okay I lied - I need three - I'll also never forget Jon Stewart announcing that Obama had won. Never.
