Once again, the media bows to Drudge
He was at the RNC hosting a party with Limballs, but the media still run to him to get his talking points. That is how far they have fallen. The republicans learned an important lesson after Nixon. The media is the enemy. Take over the media and you win. The Democrats don't seem to realize this has already happened. But if anything is clear from the last few days, it's the media is slave to the RW echo chamber. And it has nothing to do with 9/11. The media started to turn in the middle of the Clinton administration. That is when two decades of hard work by the republicans came to fruition.

Years from now, the connection between Bush, Rove and Drudge will be known to all. The full co-opting of the corporate media will be a cautionary tale. Journalism classes will talk about a "dark period" for American journalism. The only time the press has been this bad was immediately prior to WWI. When a few powerful media types basically cheerled us into a World War.

This is a long term problem. One that won't go away even if Kerry is elected. And it is dangerous to our country. The perceptions of the world press and the American press could not be more different. The gulf between the propoganda your average American sees on Fox and the facts just grows wider. And it brings with it a growing danger.

Peter Jennings, Tom Brokow, Judy Woodruff, Brit Hume, Chris Wallace, Chris Matthews, etc. Do they know deep down what they are doing? Or does the money take all the guilt away?

1. I must disagree with Brokaw and Jennings being on that list.
They are not that whorish.
You may want to add Ted Koppel though.
