6. Cute idea.
I don't like Ramm that much, but the picture is a great picture and the idea of a sleepover for the kids is excellent!

7. Even cooler---he won't be in Congress anymore!
I'm optimistic about how he'll do in his new role.

10. Why are you optimistic about how he'll do in his new role? I am looking for reasons.
I am still pissed about his power plays when he was head of DCCC -- he pushed for Tammy Duckworth to run in an Illinois district instead of a more progressive, more experienced candidate who was a resident of that district and who had a grassroots organization revved up and ready to go.

So, I am honestly trying to be open-minded and look for reasons why Rahm will do well in his new role.

13. Because I want to stay optimistic in general.
Sorry, no real good reason. I'm having a hard time with the pick, too. The only silver lining I'm seeing is that it does keep Obama from having to butt heads with Rahm in what could've been the Senate. It puts Rahm in a role that's more administrative than ideological.

Really and truly though, it makes me think that Obama could be even more centrist than I'd prepared myself for. At least Rahm is working for Obama, and maybe he's the "conservative" that will play Devil's Advocate to Obama. The choice does make sense on a few levels.

That's all I got.

15. I feel he is the right man at the right time.
How he was with Howard Dean (which needs to be healed), how he did not support progressives...I know...but...
He is a power house. He knows how to get things done. I was very impressed with Obama for picking him. I am sure some GOPs are shaking in their boots, they know "Change will come".
It gives me great confidence in President-Elect Obama's ability to see through a lot to get the very best person for the job.
Obama will pick the best and the brightest. I can not think of a better person for Obama to have covering his back and pushing through his agenda than Rahm. You want something done, give it to Rahm. I think it is a brilliant move. You certainly would not want Rahm on the other side of you.

I love it. And, as I keep posting, I am happy he is on board. He will be a power house for Obama.
