25. according to Wiki....
Senior Advisor is a title used within the Executive Branch of the United States Government for various positions.

In the Executive Office of the President of the United States, the title has been used in two different capacities:

In the George W. Bush administration, it is a formal position, formerly held by Karl Rove and now held by Barry Steven Jackson, in the newly created Office of the Senior Advisor to the President. It has responsibility for the following four groups:
White House Office of Strategic Initiatives
Intergovernmental Affairs
Political Affairs
Public Liaison

21. I don't mean to sound too stupid, and I think David did a great
job heading Obama's campaign, but with all the other advisors to the President on damn near everything, what does a Senior Advisor do?

and was at first a senior political adviser to the President.

37. I thought Toby was Communications Director?
Just like George Stephanopolous was to Bill Clinton, or Karen Hughes (bleargh!) to George W Bush.

Senior Advisors are more-or-less political advisors to the President. Karl Rove was a Senior Advisor, for example. On West Wing, Leo McGarry became a Senior Advisor after leaving his role as Chief of Staff.

23. How to become incredibly rich and famous:
1) Lock David Axelrod and Karl Rove into a room together.

2) Videotape what happens.

3) Write a two-act play about it.

24. This is looking more and more like "The West Wing"
and that's a great thing.

So... when does Axelrod go and bail out our next member of the Supreme Court after he is stopped by some redneck cop?

34. I must admit as a Chicagoan...
I'm loving the fact that he's putting fellow Chicagoans in these positions. That must be absolutely driving those "boo, hiss, Chicago Style Politics" people crazy. Ha ha - Chicago Blue(s) is takin' over the White House!!

40. It's very reminscent of JFK's inner circle, so far.
JFK never appointed a Chief of Staff, but it's believed that senior advisor Kenny O'Donnell de facto filled that role. Kenny O'Donnell ran an inner crew known in Washington as "The Irish Mafia," a group of close, trusted friends of the Kennedy family.

I think Obama's smart to put together an inner circle of trustworthy friends and fellow Chicago hard-scrabble pols. It's gonna drive the anti-Obama commentators crazy. :-)
